Overview of Seabrook Rehab

Seabrook Rehab is a rehabilitation center that treats people suffering from alcoholism and substance abuse. Seabrook has been helping patients and their families recover for over 43 years. They provide a full continuum of care and a multi-disciplined medical approach that is based on the 12-step principles of recovery. The treatment programs offered at Seabrook consist of Inpatient/Residential Programs, Gender Specific Extended Care, Outpatient Services, Detoxification and Family Treatment Services. Seabrook Rehab has five outpatient campuses apart from the one in Bridgeton. All campuses comprise of highly qualified and trained physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and therapists. They use the holistic rehab approach to treat mind, body and spirit of the patient through the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) as well a number of proven therapies such as EMDR, Equine Therapy, TENS, CranioSacral Therapy and many more. Seabrook also offers extended care programs to clients after completion of their primary treatment to ensure they gain enough confidence and strength to achieve lasting recovery. The rehab center also offers alumni program and relapse prevention to further support patients in their recovery journey. At Seabrook, patients are provided with full continuum of care from detox to extended rehab to relapse prevention so that complete healing and recovery could be achieved.

Housing and Food at Seabrook

Seabrook Rehab Center is located on 40 acres of beautiful landscape in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The facility is just at a 90-minute drive from New York. it was founded in 1974 as a mansion on this large area of land. Since then it has expanded to a much larger facility that can accomodate 146 patients at a time. Patients stay in gender-specific houses made of bricks and stone. Private rooms and suites are also available at an extra cost, otherwise rooms are shared among patients. They are provided with their own beds, closets and dressers. Each room has an attached washroom. A number of recreational activities are offered to patients which include adventure ropes course, recreation and leisure skills group. Seabrook also houses a fitness center that includes elliptical trainers, treadmills, recumbent bikes, free weights and the Precor Universal Machine. Patients can also enjoy the peaceful and serene environment of the facility by going on the walking trail, meditating in the lush green grounds by the lake or by just relaxing in the gazebos. Meals are prepared by an expert chef who serves gourmet meals in a beautiful dining hall. Vegan and vegetarian options are also included in the daily meals.

Joseph N. Ranieri DO, FAAFP, FASAM, ABAM
Medical Director

Dr. Joseph is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He is also board certified in Family Medicine. He has served as a drug and alcohol monitor for the professional assistance program since 1998. At Seabrook, his responsibilities include supervision of detox and residential treatment. He is also a licensed medical acupuncturist and offers services to ease withdrawal symptoms in patients.


Charles W. Morgan MD, FASAM, FAAFP
Medical Director Emeritus

Dr. Charles Morgan earned a doctor of medicine degree from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. His fellowship was in Addiction Medicine at Willingway Hospital in Georgia. He is board certified from the American Society of Addiction Management(ASAM). He has vast experience working as physician in detoxification units at various hospitals and facilities. At Seabrook, he holds the designation of Medical Director Emeritus.


George P. Koren, Jr., MEd, COPD, LCADC, CMS, LPC
Speciality Therapist

George has a Master’s of Education in Counseling. He is a certified Mental Illness Chemical Abuse (MICA) Specialist, a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He has over 30 years of experience working with patients of behavioral health issues, chemical dependency and dual-diagnosis disorders. He also provides hypnosis services at Seabrook Rehab.
