Overview of CenterPointe Hospital

CenterPointe Hospital offers treatment services for psychiatric disorders to adolescents, adults, and senior adults. They also offer drug and alcohol rehab for adults aged 18 and above. The hospital has been offering high-quality treatment services since its establishment. It has one facility at St. Charles that offers outpatient as well as inpatient services whereas only outpatient services are offered at five other locations. The mission at CenterPointe is to use therapeutic education and treatment to teach patients to manage their addiction or health issues and consequently learn to cope with them to achieve lasting recovery. Each patient is treated with respect and dignity in a safe and private environment that enables them to focus on recovery while leaving their pasts behind. The hospital provides a comprehensive level of treatment for addiction and behavioral issues. These include Crisis Intervention, Assessment, Education, Treatment, and Referral. The Hospital also specializes in offering highly effective Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) service for the treatment of behavioral disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. From Inpatient Detoxification to Aftercare services, the hospital provides a complete continuum of care which ensures that patients are assisted in starting their journey to recovery and then continuing on it.

Housing and Food

CenterPointe Hospital is located in the St. Louis suburb of St. Charles in Missouri. It is a 150-bed facility which is spread across 33 acres of beautiful rolling hills alongside the Missouri River. The residential areas of the hospital are segregated based on gender. Two patients share a room. Rooms are decorated and furnished modernly with each patient having his/her own single bed, side tables, and closets. Each room has an attached bathroom which has all basic amenities. The meeting rooms are comfortably furnished so that patients feel at home during their individual and group sessions. The beautiful and vast lands of the facility are utilized in outdoor activities and serve as an area where residents can relax and contemplate. The facility also has an indoor gym which includes various types of equipment and gear. The gym also serves as a game room where different types of indoor game options are provided for residents. The hospital has an in-house chef who prepares meals three times a day. The facility houses a dietician as well who helps the chef in creating healthy menus for residents. The dietician also includes special dietary requirements or restrictions in meal plans. Residents are provided with a number of healthy food options at all meal times.

He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also licensed by the State of Missouri. His areas of expertise include clinical research trials for psychiatric disorders. He served at various prestigious positions in the healthcare field before joining CenterPointe as the Chief Medical Officer.


Satish Kulkarni, M.D.
Medical Director of Senior Psychiatric Services

Dr. Kulkarni received his Medical Degree from Karnataka University, Belgaum, India. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as by the American Board of Acupuncture Medicine. Dr. Kulkarni provides the TMS services at CenterPointe. He has extensive experience in working with psychiatric issues of senior adults.


M. Javed Qasim, M.D.
Psychiatrist/ Medical Director

Dr. Qasim received his Medical Degree from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. He is licensed by the State of Missouri. He is an experienced psychiatrist who specializes in geriatric psychiatric disorders. Currently, he serves as the Medical Director of the Silver Lining Geriatric Psychiatric Program at CenterPointe.
