Serenity House started on a farm in Addison and gradually grew as it received more clients devoted to recovery from substance abuse. Volunteers gave their time and resources to ensure that the facility stayed running. Serenity House started as a 4-bed cottage in the middle of nowhere. Today, it is now a 102-bed residential facility for men and women. The goal has always been to break the silence of addiction, end the stigma associated with it, and empower those that have been affected by substance use disorder and all other forms of addiction.
Its 90-day extended residential treatment is designed to further assist those that need special care in recovery. Housing and Food at Serenity House
Serenity House treatment centers in Illinois are a total of seven in number. There are 4 homes for men only, which are located in Addison, Illinois. The other 3 branches are located in Naperville, Villa Park, and Addison in Illinois. The facility holds about 31 to 50 beds in a serene environment with access to nature and a walking trail to encourage physical activities. The fully air-conditioned rooms, private or shared, are built for comfort, and meals are served in a timely fashion, following a timetable. Outpatient programs run from Mondays to Thursdays in two sets, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Aftercare services are also Mondays to Thursdays, running from 12 pm to 1 pm and 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
