It is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center that also offers treatment for co-occurring disorders of addiction such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. The center treats adult men and women over the age of 18. The mission at Hazelden Springbrook is to become a force of healing and recovery for people affected by drug and alcohol addiction, and related behavioral health disorders. The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is the largest treatment providers of the country with over 17 campuses at different locations. It was established in 1949 and has almost 70 years of experience in the behavioral health industry. The Springbrook campus offers residential, inpatient, outpatient, day treatment, and aftercare programs. The rehabilitation programs are gender-specific that yield a greater success rate of treatment as compared to co-ed programs. Each patient is assigned an individualized treatment plan after a detailed evaluation of his/her needs, strengths, and other factors. The treatment programs integrate evidence-based therapies and the 12-step principles to help clients embark on the road to recovery and continue their journey to achieve lasting sobriety. Treatment therapies include gender-specific programming, individual and group therapy, 12-step meetings, and animal-assisted therapy with an Australian Labradoodle.

Each room has an attached bathroom. There are two common rooms where residents can sit and relax in their free time. The common rooms are built as sunrooms with one or two of their walls made of glass to ensure plenty of sunlight. The rooms have a fireplace, comfortable sofas, and chairs. The outdoor areas offer a number of healthy activities where residents can take long, relaxing walks on the walking trails or just enjoy nature sitting on chairs in the lawns. There is a small kitchen where residents can make their own coffee or snacks if they want. Otherwise, an in-house chef prepares meals for residents three times a day at the main kitchen.
