Overview of Center for Change

Center for Change is a behavioral healthcare provider located in the City of Orem, Nevada, about 45 miles south of Salt Lake City. The facility serves a clientele that is exclusively female thus, making for a more comfortable atmosphere on campus. They provide highly specialized treatment programs for a range of eating disorders that covers the three basic types comprising bulimia nervosa, binge eating, and anorexia.

The facility also offers treatment for more specific manifestations of eating disorders. These in include Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder(OSFED) as well as other forms of disordered eating associated with diabetes, substance abuse, and the rigors of unhealthy athletic diet and training. Thus, their programs specialize in treating the common as well as the more niche forms of eating disorders.

Accommodation and Food

Center for Change serves female clients whose ages vary in range from 15 to 30 years. As such, their living quarters are sectioned off to ensure that the various age groups are accommodated together. The residential areas have living rooms that are furnished with full-length windows to give the rooms an airy feel and ample sunlight and also sport a cozy fireplace. The buildings have multiple smaller family rooms to provide a meeting place where families visiting clients can converge upon.

The residential facility has a 98-bed capacity with 28 of these beds reserved for inpatient treatment, and 14 of them kept apart for inpatient stabilization. The remaining beds are assigned to residential treatment. Every room is shared between two clients who get their own bathroom or share one with their neighbors. The rooms come furnished with twin-sized beds and closets that offer storage space.

Food is a very important component of the treatment offered here, this being an eating disorder treatment facility. As such, registered dietitians and therapists devise a menu that offers a wide variety of food to enable clients to break off from certain narrow eating patterns. The diets may range from carrots and hummus to donuts.

He has authored several books on the topics and has presented papers at many national conferences. He has a Ph.D. in counseling psychology and a minor in marriage and family therapy.


Reid Robison
Medical Director

Dr. Reid Robinson has a multidisciplinary approach to his work with interests and several degrees in medical areas ranging from neuroscience and genetics to anatomy and business. He has a demonstrated work history and extensive experience in the field of behavioral healthcare. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University and an MD and MBA from the University of Utah.


Julie B. Clark
Clinical Director

Julie Clark is a Licensed Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in treating various womenโ€™s issues ranging from depression and anxiety to eating disorders and self-esteem issues. As the Clinical Director at Center for Change, she is in charge of coordinating with staff and overseeing the quality of the treatment delivered and the progress of the clients enrolled in them. She has a Masters in School Psychology and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University.
