Pathways Treatment Center Overview
Located in the city of Kalispell, northwest Montana, Pathways Treatment Center is a department of the Kalispell Regional Medical Center and began in 1994. The facility provides services in the form of inpatient treatment for adolescents and adults dealing with mental health and behavioral issues, substance abuse/dependence, and co-occurring disorders. The facility offers a separate depression support group which consists of daily depression screenings for adults and adolescents. A free depression support group is open to the public and holds once a week at the Pathways conference room. The group reinforces healthy coping skills for individuals dealing with depression. The facility boasts of offering medically effective treatment and has a treatment team consisting of mental health specialists, licensed therapists and counselors, and psychiatric nurses. Length of stay at the center is usually short-term and the average stay is usually less than 7 days. Pathways Center offers a psychiatric program which is designed to help individuals dealing with psychiatric and emotional problems get stabilized. The aim of this program is to help clients smoothly transition back into their communities. The treatment center also offers a one-day medically supervised detox program which included full therapeutic services and around-the-clock monitoring. The center has a separate program for adolescents in crisis which is also operated at a separate wing of the center for adults.
Accommodation And Food
The treatment center is a 40-bed facility and is located in a hospital environment. Private rooms are not available at the facility. Two clients are allocated to a single room and also share a bathroom. Each room is furnished with two chairs and two beds. Personal electronic devices (e.g. cell phones), belts, food, money, and weapons of any kind are prohibited at the facility. The center is also tobacco-free. A TV set in the day room is available for clients to watch.
Meals at the facility are standard and staff chefs are present at the facility. Food on the men is usually approved by nutritionists and dietary restrictions are accommodated.

Financial assistance is available to all patients, insurance or not, clients who passed the requirements will be given a discount only on the payment needed for the treatment. Medicare, Medicaid, and government funding are accepted by the facility but clients might still be billed as it might not cover the complete payment.

Joseph Boyle – Psychiatrist
Joseph went to the Ponce School of Medicine where he earned a Medical degree and the East Carolina University (Brody School of Medicine) where he completed his psychiatry residency. He went on to the Duke University where he completed his training and fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry. He joined Pathways treatment center in August 2013 and is recognized for his work in outpatient psychiatry.
Ken Cairns – Internal Medicine
Ken is board certified by the American Board to practice internal medicine. He works in the Pathways Treatment Center division of Kalispell Regional Medical Center where he has privileges. He is under the financial assistance program offered by Kalispell Regional.
