While this drug has been proven to be safe and effective for pain relief when taken at recommended doses, the number of misuse cases increases. Some people used prescription drugs like Norco for nonmedical reasons for the first time to get high. Norco pills high or euphoria for first-time users are most common in women and adolescents, ages 12-17.

Can Norco Get A User High?

Understanding how Norco makes one high is essential as it can bring risks of dangerous side effects and addiction. When discussing how Norco gets abusers high, the focus should be on its mechanism of action. Norco pills work by binding to mu-opioid receptors in the brain. Once bonded, pain signals are weakened or blocked completely. Mu opioid receptors also mediate positive reinforcement following drug intake. Feel-good sensations of Norco drug high are introduced, which encourages people to take the drug repeatedly.

Often, when users try to quit or decrease the number of painkillers they are taking, they discover how dependent their bodies have become on the drug. After regular use, a drug’s action in the frontal cortex can weaken one’s ability to regulate mood and control decision-making.

Norco is available in different doses, and each has its speed of taking effect. How long Norco lasts depends on the dose used and individual metabolism. The longer the drug stays in the system, the more heightened the Norco pill high becomes.

Drug combinations such as Gabapentin and Norco and the concomitant use of other drugs such as antihistamines, sedatives, tranquilizers, and alcohol can also heighten the drug’s ability to produce euphoria because of more additive depressant effects.

How Abusers Get High on This Painkiller

It is possible to get Norco hydrocodone high by increasing the dose and taking the drug in several ways other than oral administration. Swallowing and chewing are rarer than smoking, snorting, injecting, parachuting, plugging, and lean. This is done to feel the effects of the drug fast as it reaches the system more quickly by bypassing first-pass metabolism. Also, the taste of Norco 10mg high pills, among other reasons, have been reported as unpleasant by some users. Below is a list of illegal and dangerous ways abusers may take this painkiller.

Many people are wondering if it is possible to crush Norco for smoking. Yes, and some abusers use the drug this way. After crushing, the drug is heated on a foil and then inhaled. This offers a faster way for the medicine to take effect as it passes directly into the bloodstream via the nose and the lungs. However, additional substances such as binders and fillers that are used in creating the pill are inhaled as well. Others even add weed to enhance their smoking experience. If done regularly, the user will face the risk of lung disease. To know if somebody has been smoking this drug, check for irregular breathing, erratic movements, and impaired motor skills.

Some people snort Norco 5-325 mg to get high. Similar to smoking, the drug is crushed into a powder form and snorted. However, this method of administration poses serious risks of infection and damage to the nasal pathways, septum, and other surrounding tissues.

Shooting is also popular in Norco recreational use. As for the preparation, shooting this drug also starts with crushing it into a powder form. The drug is then dissolved in water and injected into a vein, muscle, another place beneath the skin. This method presents a higher risk of fatal Norco overdose symptoms as the drug is introduced and absorbed into the body more quickly.

Swallowing a drug folded and rolled in a piece of tissue or paper is commonly done to secure a faster and prolonged “Norco 5 mg high” feeling while avoiding the unpleasant taste of the drug. The paper acts as a parachute that supports a sustained release of the drug. However, one may die immediately from this technique due to obstruction if one inhales the paper. Other signs and risks of parachuting include difficulty breathing, stomach pain, and a bowel perforation.

Unlike the usual solid suppositories, drugs used for plugging are turned into powder and mixed with water to create a solution that will be pushed into the anus using an oral syringe. This yields a faster effect and a more intense Norco 10mg high. However, this method of administration is not only dangerous but also suggestive of abuse and addiction. Even a single session of plugging may cause wounds or injuries around the rectum, causing lacerations, which can, later on, develop to ulcerations. These are extremely painful and may require a medical emergency.

“Lean” refers to a cocktail drink containing a painkiller, an antihistamine or cough syrup, and a beverage. Many people use Sprite, Mountain Dew, orange juice, or berry juice for flavoring. Drinking lean cocktail provides faster and longer Norco 10 325 high, but not without risks. When drunk in excessive amounts, lean can cause abnormal dizziness and breathing problems, a possible fatal side effect of Norco.

A Norco 7.5 high is difficult to combat, and in the long run, there is a greater risk for the user to self-medicate.

People who have asthma or other respiratory issues are often given over the counter substitute for Norco to avoid serious and long-term health risks like impairment of the pulmonary function, which may lead to pneumonia. Taking it more frequently than prescribed or at higher doses puts people at greater risk of liver damage or failure, which may lead to death.
