Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship open to both men and women who have the same experiences about being an alcoholic and hope that with the help of one another, they can stop drinking spirits. It is very easy to join the group. The only requirement is your desire to stop drinking alcohol. There are no fees as most AA meetings are well supported by personal contributions. AA is not affiliated with any other institutions or politics and does not wish to be involved in any scandals. AA meetings are solely being done to give way to an open sharing session, wherein attendees are being given the chance to discuss any personal problems and concerns.
There are a total of 224 AA meetings being done every week in Oakland. The location includes Rockridge Fellowship, Kaiser CDRP, Central Office, First Unitarian Church of Oakland, and many others.
