In Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), you meet with other people who have gathered with a common goal of helping one another recover from alcohol dependence. You will learn from speakers who share their own experiences or you may join in a general discussion where you share your recovery experiences to encourage others in their journey.
In open AA meetings, non-alcoholics may join in as observers but only alcoholics who have expressed a desire to abstain from drinking are allowed in closed groups.
