About Sharon
Sharon Levy is a specialist in the drug addiction & substance abuse treatment field.
Sharon has an inborn interest in medical sciences, as many of her family members have been engaged in the field throughout many generations. After successful graduation from Boston University, Massachusetts, Sharon gained a Masterโs degree in Public Health. Since then, Sharon devoted herself entirely to the medical niche.
Being a student, Sharon showed her interest in the development of drug use treatment strategies. During studies, Sharon managed to complete two pieces of training sponsored by the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS). Namely, โSupporting Youth and Families in Recovery from Substance Use Disordersโ and โAn Insight on Psychiatric Medications and Prescription Medications of Abuse.โ The core focus of the first training was on the way a specialist can support a family, the members/s of which face a drug abuse challenge.
The courses helped Sharon to find her first job in the niche. Sharon started to assist a Community Care Coordinator at Bay Cove Human Services first. Sharon became a coordinator herself in almost five months. She has been working at Bay Cove for one and a half years. Sharonโs interest in ambulatory medicine also led her to the Brigham and Womenโs Faulkner Hospital. At the hospital, she is a volunteer in the Addiction Recovery program since her university years.
Sharon Levy is also a certified addiction recovery coach. In 2001, Sharon got a Certification of Alcohol and Drug Counselors issued by the Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse Counselor Certification (MBSACC). At the moment, she is working as a recovery coach.
On the position of a medical writer, Sharon is responsible for preparing quality content based on recent research and statistical data from prominent health organizations, journals, and government agencies.
