Alcoholics Anonymous is a well-known and respected recovery group that has helped hundreds of thousands of residents in Pennsylvania to recover from alcoholism. These gatherings have helped the participants to battle their own struggles without using drugs. The primary purpose of attending these meetings is to interact with, learn from, and engage in mutual support with other men and women struggling with alcoholism. The AA meetings provide the addict with an ongoing source of support in the process of recovery in all stages.

AA meetings give those in long-term recovery the chance to mentor also the newcomers in the meeting. There are about 1250 AA meetings annually in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and there is absolutely no excuse not to attend any group meeting. There are daily meetings in cities, and you can get access to them from any point in the State. Such places include Bethel Park, Monroeville, West Mifflin and others.

It is recommendable for starters to attend several AA meetings in various locations within Pittsburgh before sticking to one.
