About Dr. Hochman

Dr. Daniel Hochman is a board certified Psychiatrist with a private practice in Austin, TX. He is the creator of a revolutionary online addiction recovery program,ย selfrecovery.org. Dr. Hochman advocates for using strategies proven through hard science, and describes them in ways that are easy to understand and incorporate into oneโ€™s life. His work draws on his medical training as a physician, his psychological expertise as a psychiatrist, and research from thousands of studies to provide a holistic approach to addiction care that works.

Dr. Hochmanโ€™s treatment approach focuses on the underlying emotional causes of addiction to achieve a deep, lasting life change. To deal with the reality that most people have barriers to getting help, like hectic schedules, family needs, tight budgets, and fear of judgment, he created Self Recovery as an on-demand approach that allows people to conveniently explore their causes of addiction anytime, on any device, in as much privacy as they need.

As a leader in the addiction field, Dr. Hochman has been invited to speak for a range of organizations, including Whole Foods and NAADAC, the largest organization for addiction-focused healthcare professionals. His NAADAC lecture remains the most attended in its history.
