Region 8 Mental Health Services in Brandon, Mississippi, provides comprehensive alcohol and drug abuse treatment to men and women aged 18 and older. Additionally, residents are closely monitored throughout their stay to ensure both safety and the effectiveness of the treatment.

For clients with less severe symptoms, the IOP program provides an alternative. During treatment, clients visit the facility for a few hours daily on regularly scheduled days to meet with their treatment team. They receive the same forms of therapy and support as the residential program but do not reside on campus.

The IOP is divided into three phases. The first phase focuses on addiction education, helping clients understand how their addiction has harmed them and those around them. Phase two is an eight-week curriculum that explores relapse prevention strategies and methods. During phase three, the staff collaborates with clients to design a two-year aftercare program.

Aftercare for both inpatient and outpatient programs includes continuing therapy sessions on an outpatient basis. Aftercare planning connects clients to community resources that support recovery, such as 12-step meetings.
