About us
Dedicated to providing flexible and supportive treatment for persons in need, Southwest Behavioral Health Services, Lake Havasu Outpatient is situated in Havasu City, Arizona, next to Wheeler Park. This facility, which is a component of Southwest Behavioral Health Services’ (SB&H) comprehensive outpatient treatment branch, gives patients the tools they need to manage mental health disorders and drug use disorders while continuing with their regular activities. To address a wide variety of client requirements, they provide specialist programs like DUI and domestic violence (DV) instruction in addition to standard therapy.
Clients at the Lake Havasu institution engage in outpatient programs that provide rehabilitation without requiring residential care. This program style is appropriate for clients who want the organized support of individual, group, and family therapy while staying in their homes, those going down from higher levels of treatment, or those with minor symptoms. In order to provide clients with practical help with basic necessities including medical care, transportation, and community advocacy to access all required resources, the center also offers case management and vocational support.
Since its founding in 1969 as a component of a community mental health program supported by the federal government, SB&H has been dedicated to growing and changing its offerings across Arizona. Originally established as St. Luke’s-Jane Wayland Community Mental Health Center, the institution gradually expanded its scope after becoming a nonprofit in 1974. SB&H was able to increase its community impact, provide more residential housing options for people with severe mental illness, and set up service sites throughout several Arizona counties thanks to its 1995 merger with Community Behavioral Health and later acquisitions, including Rim Guidance Center in 2000 and Toby House, Inc. in 2011.
Nearly 1,000 specialists, including therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and support personnel, work with SB&H today, providing therapy to adults and children throughout the state. Psychiatric treatment, addiction recovery programs, inpatient crisis services, residential housing, assisted housing choices, school-based counseling, and outpatient mental health assistance are just a few of their many offerings. As part of its efforts to combat the opioid problem, SB&H also runs opioid substitution clinics across Arizona.
The fact that SB&H has been CARF accredited for more than 20 years further demonstrates their dedication to providing holistic treatment. SB&H’s devotion to the highest standards in health and human services is shown by its nonprofit certification. Furthermore, SB&H is a national leader in professional training, establishing training collaborations like their cooperation with Sias University in China and operating a doctorate internship program approved by the American Psychological Association. SB&H’s vision of providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care with the goal of improving lives and communities across Arizona is reflected in our commitment to integrated care and professional development.

We understand that choosing an addiction treatment center can be overwhelming, especially with so many options, promises, and marketing messages. Thatโs why weโve developed a clear, standardized rating system designed to cut through the noise and highlight what truly matters: safety, quality of care, and transparency. Our goal is to give individuals and families the information they need to make confident, informed decisions during a critical time.
In this guide, we explain exactly how we rate treatment centersโfrom accreditation and staff credentials to therapy options, facility environment, and family involvement. Youโll see how we assign scores, award badges, and update listings to ensure accuracy and fairness. Most importantly, our system focuses on elevating centers that prioritize ethical, evidence-based care, not just those with the best marketing. This way, you can trust that the ratings you see reflect meaningful standards that help you find the right fit for lasting recovery.
