Housing and Food
The Life Center of Galax houses over 100 clients in the residential area with the rooms containing two to three beds, so no private rooms are available such that companionship is fostered between residents of the center. Men and women are housed separately in different parts of the dorms. There are sitting areas all around the center which fit into the natural scenery of the center. There are allowed smoking breaks with designated areas allocated for it so other residents are not inconvenienced. There are streams that can be seen around the center depending on the season. There are volleyball and basketball courts which residents can use at any time for recreational purposes. The grounds are maintained by the staff and surrounding community members. Breakfast is served by 7 am in the morning, lunch sometime around noon and ends the day with dinner by 5 pm. Clients eat a total of 3 nutritious meals per day. Visitations are allowed on the weekends by registered family and friends, residents who meet a requirement are allowed to go out to town on Saturday and Sundays to picnics, catch a movie and see the town. Lights out each day is by 11 pm sharp.

Inpatient Treatment Program
The center offers a residential inpatient treatment program which involves a variety of treatment methods, so a patient is observed by a professional and given a treatment plan to suit their needs Individual therapy is available at this stage.
Outpatient Treatment Program
This level of treatment is for patients who are too busy to check themselves into an inpatient center. Patients who choose this program still get an adequate amount of treatment; the outpatient treatment includes all the treatments available at the center.
Patients are educated on addiction and alcoholism, and then enrolled in the 12 step recovery of AA and NA classes. After successfully completing this program a certificate is awarded, this certificate is presented to the court and lawyer to show as proof of rehabilitation.

Lisa Hatcher, the CEO of Life Center of Galax has 25 years of experience in healthcare management, and has risen up the ranks from regional business development director to CEO all in the span of a year at the center. She got her degrees from mountain state university where she studied both strategic leadership and business administration. Her leadership skills excellent, and has become a vital part of the community at the facility.
Director of Nursing
She joined the life center of galax team in 2017 and has been a healthy contribution to the team, her experience and skills range from inpatient care to employee wellness. She obtained a certificate of associate of science after graduating from Wythe community college. Her caring demeanor and kind treatment for both staff and patients has impacted the center greatly.
Dr. Napoleon Cuenco is one of the oldest serving staff at life center of galax, having served for 23 years till date. He has a number of certifications given by the American board of psychiatry & neurology in child, adult and adult psychiatry. His experience is important and greatly valued at the center.
