Wellcome Manor Family Services is a substance abuse treatment center for women, founded in 2007 in Garden City, Minnesota. The treatment is based on the 12-step philosophy, cognitive-behavioral approach, and addiction education. Unfortunately, the facility does not offer detox services.
Wellcome Manor Family Services: Treatments, Programs, and Staff
The primary treatment goal at the Wellcome Manor is to help women achieve sobriety and rebuild broken relationships. It does so through 2 phases of treatment:
- Phase 1 lasts between 60 and 90 days, and it includes 40 hours a week of individual counseling and group therapy.
- The average duration of Phase 2 is up to 90 days, and implies 20 hours of therapy sessions per week.
In both phases, the emphasis is on discovery of the underlying cause(s) of addiction. The treatment is holistic and deals with more than addiction. Some of the subjects addressed during therapy sessions include:
The center also offers dual-diagnosis treatment, medication management, 12-step meetings, culturally based support services, and mental health diagnostic assessments and therapy. The primary individual therapy method at the center is dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT).
The staff at the Wellcome Manor Family Service consists of counselors, a physician and a psychiatrist, nurses, and licensed therapists.
Wellcome Manor Family Services: Facilities and Extras
The facility is built on a former elementary school campus. The inpatient building has the capacity to accommodate up to 40 women with children. Cribs for children are also provided. Women with kids do not share rooms, while single women stay in a separate wing of the center in double occupancy bedrooms. Rooms are equipped with beds, dressers, bookcases, and closets.
Common area includes TV room, playroom for kids, outdoor play area, game room, and fitness center. The center also offers art therapy and recreational activities such as fitness and volleyball.
Every Wednesday, the staff organizes family program that consists of individual and group sessions. Sober living can be arranged if necessary.
Another additional service the center provides is daycare for kids while mothers are in therapy.
Meals are prepared onsite by kitchen staff. Also, special dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
Rules and Regulations in Wellcome Manor Family Services
The center has very strict visitation rules. Only family members who participate in the family program can visit their loved one.
Some of the items clients should not bring to the center are:
- DVD players
- Food and beverages
- Recording devices
- Pornographic material
- Toiletries that contain alcohol
Patients have to be dressed appropriately during their stay at the center which means no mini skirts, shorts, cleavage, low rise jeans, or hats.
Wellcome Manor Family Services is all-women addiction treatment center that provides inpatient, dual diagnosis, and relapse prevention services. Family support and aftercare are also offered to those in need. Mothers with children should not worry because the facility provides daycare services while women are in therapy.
