Red Rock Canyon School: Treatments, Programs, and Staff
The treatment at Red Rock Canyon School includes following modalities:
- Group therapy
- Individual counseling
- Substance abuse counseling
- Family therapy
- Family support
- Speciality groups
Some of the topics addressed during group therapy sessions are 12 steps, social skills, educational lectures, leadership training, anger management, and victim awareness. The primary goal of individual therapy sessions is to help clients change their maladaptive behavior patterns and share their feelings in a safe environment.
Substance abuse counseling is an integration of 12-step meetings, Hazelden’s Living in Balance Program, Adolescent Chemical Dependency Recovery Workbook, peer support groups, and individual counseling. The meetings are held three to four times per week.
The center also recognizes the importance of family involvement in the rehabilitation process. So, family groups and family weekends are arranged to help families build a stable support system for their loved one. Additionally, the center sends monthly reports to parents about the recovery process so they can keep track of the rehabilitation progress.
Speciality groups are created for individuals dealing with trauma, grief, self-esteem, and attachment issues.
