McLeod Center: Treatment, Programs and Staff
Both adolescent and adult inpatient programs consist of same day-to-day activities with the exception of school-based activities that take a portion of time from adolescent program patient’s day.
A typical day begins with an early-morning wake up and meditation time for every patient. After this every patient is given time to take breakfast and do some physical exercise if they so desire. These activities are followed by a 3-hour group therapy session from 9am to 12pm, after which there is a lunch break and time designated for fulfilling individual assignments. Another group therapy session is scheduled for 2.30pm each day, followed by some time for evening relaxation, exercise and dinner. After dinner patients go and attend a 12-step meeting off-site, followed by light’s out. The only difference between adolescent and adult patient’s schedule is that adolescent patients do not have a second daily group therapy session and instead have to attend school.
