Turquoise Lodge Hospital is a New Mexico Department of Health initiative. This substance abuse rehabilitation center is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Founded originally in 1952 when it was situated in the southwest Valley location, it moved to its current campus in 2007. It provides treatments for drug dependency to residents of New Mexico.
The center provides specialized care to adult substance abuse victims of over 18 years age. Apart from regular substance abuse victims, their priority clientele includes pregnant women substance abusers, IV injecting drug users who may be pregnant or otherwise. Female substance abuse victims with children dependents and both male and female addicts attempting to regain custody of their children are also provided specialized treatment programs.

The gender-specific rooms are shared by two occupants and furnished with twin beds with attached private baths. The hospital also offers an outdoor gym and a basketball court. Washing machines and dryers are available for the residents’ convenience.
The lawn is dotted with picnic tables and chairs with trees providing shade at intermittent distances. This allows clients to socialize in the park-like lawns or even to just enjoy the sun while reading a book on their own. The kitchen at the facility serves three meals a day, along with other nutritious snacks in a cafeteria-like setting. The menu is selected with care by a dietician in order to maximize nutrient intake and better facilitate the clients’ treatment and recovering process.
