Tueller Counseling Services Overview
Tueller Counseling Center, located in Idaho Falls in Bonneville County, Idaho, is a mental health and addiction recovery treatment center for children, adolescents, and adults founded in 2011. The center also provides services for families and couples. The organization was established by Thomas Tueller and aims to help individuals develop inner resources and tools required to overcome various difficulties. The counseling center offers therapy and treatment on the basis of a person’s history and unique situation. Since its establishment, the center has expanded to include four more locations throughout the East Idaho region. Children undergoing treatment at the center are usually between the ages of 3-12, adolescents between the ages of 12-18, and adults usually 18 and older. Clients are usually treated for illnesses and conditions ranging from abuse and trauma to eating disorders, psychological problems, etc. Psychiatrists, case managers, and nurse practitioners are available at all stages of care. Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), family support services, traditional outpatient programs, and medication management are all offered at the center’s various locations while persons dealing with co-occurring mental health crisis may receive treatment in the form of dual-diagnosis support. Therapy modalities are also heavily relied upon for treatment. The center does not offer residential or inpatient treatment programs.

Intensive Outpatient Program
Before admission into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), clients are evaluated using the GAIN alcohol and drug assessment strategy. Participants in this program will be involved in 5-9 hours of treatment and have group therapy 2-3 times weekly. Clients take part in individual sessions at least once every week. Patients are also monitored by certified recovery coaches and attend life skills/addiction education sessions to prevent relapse.
Community Based Rehabilitation Services
The Community Based Rehabilitation Service is conducted by a specialist who provides skill-building services and collaborates with clients in regards to finances, community, basic living skills, social supports, housing, medical, and education. Children, teens, and adults are all accommodated in this program.

Thomas has been in the behavioral healthcare for over 20 years helping victims of violent crimes. Prior to starting the counseling service, he started his career at Child protective Services working as an investigator and counselor. He is directly involved in counseling individuals who have abused their children and men who have abused their partners.

Kendra holds a Bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University majoring in Psychology and Master’s degree from Capella University in Mental Health Counseling. She has many years of experience working with adults and children conducting substance abuse and mental health counseling.

Cam holds a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Social Work and a Master’s degree from the University of Louisville in Social Work as well. He is very passionate about counseling adolescents and children about making life goals and positive changes.
