Texas Star Recovery Overview
Texas Star Recovery, located in Austin, Texas, is a treatment center that provides long-term care to individuals with mental health issues as well as, substance abuse disorder. The facility offers multiple programs ranging from inpatient to outpatient substance abuse treatment programs, and also offers detox to clients in need of it. Dual diagnosis support is offered and the facility has been around for over 60 years and in full operation.
The typical duration of a lengthened stay is between two to four weeks. After initial assessment which is done on intake, the counselor discovers the individual’s issue and gives the client a treatment plan. The treatment plan includes schedules as well as, individual and group therapy. Clients seeking detox will be moved to the detox unit and might remain there for three to five days, depending on the progress of treatment. Treatment approach involves clients attending daily 12-step meetings, which are held off-site and staff helps transport clients. Other methods used include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods for discussing and addressing issues such as anger management and coping skills.

Accommodation and Food
The facility offers double occupancy rooms to residents in the inpatient program. Two clients share a room and kitchen staff at the treatment center deliver snacks to treatment locations. The housing is designed to give off a “homely feeling”, complete with colorful textiles, plants, and traditional decorations.
A recreational area with a large expanse of land for taking walks and two swimming pools are available on campus for the use of clients. Assigned staff are required to supervise residents during this weekly swimming outings.
The treatment facility also makes available a common area, also known as the TV room, where clients can relax and call home using the unit phones available. At this time, personal computers and mobile phones are not permitted. Other services such as a free on-site laundry facility are available to residents.

Texas Star Recovery cost varies depending on the program a client is registered into. The facility accepts both Tricare and Medicare insurance plans. Out-of-network insurance plans can be negotiated and other insurance plans accepted include Aetna, ComPsych, Magellan Behavioral Health, Beacon Health Option, and many more. Texas Star Recovery Advantages
The facility offers weekly yoga classes to clients registered in the inpatient program. Clients loved ones can visit clients at designated times during the weekend and Friday evenings. After completion of a primary program, clients can step down to an outpatient program for aftercare. The outpatient program is a less intensive approach to treatment, unlike the inpatient program. A family education group which holds every Monday is available, and loved ones of clients are encouraged to attend. A weekly alumni meeting which takes place every Wednesday is available, and alumni of the facility are encouraged to attend as well.

Sonja has over 7 years of experience working in the behavioral health field and currently serves as the Nurse Manager at the facility. She is licensed to be a registered nurse and is dedicated to helping clients through treatment.
Jenny holds a Master’s degree from Drexel University in Couple and Family Therapy, and another from the Biblical Seminary (Hatfield) in Divinity. She is currently fixing up the coursework for a Master’s degree from St. Mary’s University in Couple and Family Therapy. She is also licensed to practice family therapy.
Roland has over 27 years of experience working in the behavioral health field and is licensed to practice chemical dependency counseling. He is dedicated to helping clients through the journey to sobriety.
