Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute, located in Georgetown, a city in central Texas, is an acute care mental health hospital providing comprehensive psychiatric services and programs for teenagers, adults, and seniors. The facility is part of the Signature Healthcare Services (SHS) which is based in Corona, California. The organization is one of the most established private psychiatric hospital companies in the US and offers help to thousands of people yearly. SHS also provides comprehensive treatment plans across all ten of its acute care hospitals situated in different locations including Nevada, California, Arizona, and Illinois.
The hospital provides an individualized, patient-centered treatment plan to suit each client’s individual needs and does so in a caring and safe environment. The facility also boasts of highly educated professionals and a multidisciplinary staff which works with each client individually to address each of their unique needs. The treatment team at the hospital consists of adjunctive therapists, psychiatrists, physicians, dieticians, nurses, and social workers. The institute offers evidence-based programs designed to help patients live satisfying health lives by teaching them effective communication and coping techniques. The admission process at the facility, conducted by a licensed assessment clinician, usually involves an assessment which allows the hospital to evaluate the current symptoms of the patient and recommend a service or program which best suits their needs. Among the levels of care, the hospital offers an inpatient program for adults, adolescents, and seniors while also providing an Intensive Outpatient Program for adults.
The hospital is a newly built facility which rests on seven acres in the city of Georgetown, Texas and is capable of accommodating up to 118 people in its inpatient unit. Patients are advised to bring five days’ worth of comfortable clothes, underwear, and pajamas. Medications being currently used can also be brought in by the patient. The facility prohibits personal electronic items, drugs, revealing clothing, flammable items, and jewelry.
A patient’s length of stay is usually dependent on the patient’s individual needs and is determined through the direction of the attending psychiatrist and consultation with a person’s treatment team.

Adult Inpatient Program
The hospital’s adult inpatient program for people 18 and older dealing with substance abuse and mental health-related problems is located near Austin, Texas and is designed to stabilize patients and return them to an effective level of functioning. The program focuses on a few core principles: learning to identify triggers, prevention and wellness, and encouraging healthy self-regulatory behaviors.
Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry
This is a program which provides treatment and care for older adults dealing with mental and behavioral health issues. It usually involves an individualized treatment plan and different forms of therapy.
Intensive Outpatient Program
The intensive outpatient program is designed for adults 18 and above who do not require the constant monitoring provided by an inpatient program. The center offers two different intensive outpatient programs namely the Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program and a more traditional psychiatric Intensive Outpatient Program.

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute costs approximately $6,000 for a 30-day stay at the facility but this price is subject to change as it is greatly dependent on the treatment program a client is registered into. The facility is in-network with most insurance providers, clients are advised to contact the facility on coverage and benefits. The facility accepts Managed Medicaid, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Georgetown Behavioral Health Advantages
The institute conducts an AA meeting weekly for clients on campus. Group meetings that involve peer-to-peer conversations and sharing on challenges patients are currently facing. Holiday and weekend planning also occurs during this meetings. The institute currently does not offer partial hospitalization but when it does it will offer a very intensive treatment program higher than an intensive outpatient program that will allow clients stay at their homes overnight instead of the facility. A client with mental health and chemical dependency issues are given inpatient acute psychiatric care. Although the institute’s program options are limited to clients with chemical dependency issues, quality care which does not require inpatient treatment is still given. This program consists of group sessions which educate clients and creates an avenue for sharing issues in a safe non-judgemental environment.

Ryan Hutsell – Intake Director
Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she majored in psychology and a Master’ degree from the University of Texas. Prior to working with the facility, she served at different capacities in different organizations such as Social Work at Metroplex Health System and Intake Counselor at Georgetown.
