GCASA Overview

The Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, also known as GCASA, is a non-profit organization which provides substance, alcohol, and drug addiction treatment services to adults and adolescents residing in the Genesee and Orleans counties and the greater Western New York region. The center has provided these services for more than four decades and bases its core values on compassion and sustainability. The organization runs its main clinics in Albion and Batavia with another clinic located in LeRoy. The residential treatment facility provided by the organization is strictly for men and has the capacity to accommodate 17 persons only. The program takes place in the Atwater Community Residence in the city of Batavia, New York. Residents share bedrooms and bathrooms to encourage a spirit of community and the facility also has a laundry room, dining room, a seasonal screened-in patio, and a spacious living room.
Meals are served thrice daily and are required to be well-balanced and nutritious.
