Women’s Outreach Residential Treatment

The program is for women with substance use or dependency who are pregnant, postpartum, or parenting children age 13 and younger.

Men’s Outreach Residential Treatment

Highland Rivers’ residential facility for men is an environment that encourages men to learn about how their life events have come together to create their addiction. The programs are set up for the men to acquire new ways of expressing their thoughts and feelings and healthy ways of meeting their needs.

Crisis Stabilization Units

The Highland Rivers Health crisis stabilization service is a first-line alternative to hospitalization in state hospitals. They provide psychiatric stabilization and detoxification, on a short-term basis, for adults 18 and over.

The three crisis stabilization units (CSUs) operate 24/7 as emergency receiving and evaluation facilities. CSUs are not considered a medical hospital—they do not have the staff or capacity to provide medical services found in a hospital setting. Admission is based on voluntary and involuntary basis. The maximum length of stay for involuntary is eight days.

Payment and Insurance

During the first appointment, the admission staff will work with the patient on a financial evaluation and a payment plan. Highland Recovery Center accepts self-pay, most commercial insurance, and Medicaid and Medicare. They also contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for veterans who need their services. If the patient does not have the ability to pay or does not have insurance, they may be eligible for a sliding-scale fee or state-contracted services.
